An elderly man has died after a car veered off the road on Humberston Road, in Cleethorpes.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at 11.49am this morning after the car left the road and stopped in a hedge, at the junction with Denby Drive, near Hewitts Circus.
One male driver, of a green Peugeot, was taken to hospital, but police said the elderly local man had sadly died as a result of the crash.
Police advised drivers to avoid the area and the road will be closed for some time.
Road closures are in place from the junction with Brian Avenue down to the Hewitts Circus roundabout and traffic is being diverted down Brian Avenue and Taylors Avenue; there is said to be particular congestion around Tesco.
There is still access to Pennells Garden Centre, close to where the incident took place.
