GRIMSBY Town 'never really got close' to bringing forward one of their league fixtures to fill the void this weekend.
That's according to boss Paul Hurst, who had spoken of his desire to rearrange a future fixture to replace tomorrow's postponed trip to Eastleigh.
He explained: "We didn't get that close to rearranging a game to be honest because teams are either playing in the FA Cup or have other league games anyway.
"It's disappointing – particularly because we had been ahead of others in terms of games, but now, once we do get around to playing again, we'll actually be behind.
"I look at teams like Forest Green, who played midweek, play Saturday, play Tuesday have a Trophy game and then come to ours – so it's a bit strange in comparison.
"I'll just have to take an interest in the other games that are being played and get a better balance of where we are."
