THE UK's favourite Coca-Cola Christmas truck returns to give a little happiness this festive season.
For so many of us, the sight of Coca-Cola's iconic "Holidays Are Coming" advert signifies the start of the Christmas season.
People in North East Lincolnshire will get the chance to see the iconic Coca-Cola truck when it makes a stop in Grimsby next week – on Thursday, December 11.
The Coca-Cola truck will park outside Freshney Place Shopping Centre at the Riverhead between 1pm and 9pm to give fans the opportunity to take part in a unique experience by getting up close and personal to the famous vehicle.
People will have the chance to take photographs with the truck as it lights up (just like the advert), whilst enjoying a snowy winter wonderland setting and a refreshing Coca-Cola or Diet Coke as a choir sings Christmas hits.
Amanda Austin, director of Freshney Place Shopping Centre said: "It's a fabulous opportunity for the town and for everyone to really get into the Christmas spirit. It will be great fun to see the famous Coca-Cola truck light up, and I hope lots of people will come and join us and enjoy the atmosphere."
Alongside the truck, more than 20 market stalls will be selling vintage gifts and food.
Also on the evening Grimsby-based arts organisation The Culture House will bring a fantastic range of entertainment to Victoria Street, The Riverhead and Freshney Place. With support from Arts Council England, the programme will include six amazing UK street performance acts as well as live Christmas music within the shopping centre, courtesy of The Shannon Reilly Trio and James Hutchinson.
There will also be free craft activities for children and families in Freshney Place.
Charlotte Bowen, Culture House director, said: "We're thrilled to be coming back so quickly after the success of the Big Christmas Event, with another great programme of arts and entertainment for the town."
Councillor Ray Oxby, portfolio holder for regeneration, said: "This is a great coup for the town, and with everything else happening on the day alongside the visit of the iconic truck, it should be a fantastic day. I hope people will take the time to come and enjoy the entertainment and the market as well as having their photo taken with the truck. It promises to be a fantastic day."
To top it all, remember, there's free parking from 5pm on the evening. Freshney Place, the market and the street entertainment will be open until 8pm, supporting the great Coca-Cola Christmas truck visit.
