GRIMSBY Town have 'a couple' of doubts ahead of the trip to Telford – but Chris Doig isn't saying who!
The sickness bug that kept Aswad Thomas, out of Tuesday's victory over Woking appears to have spread with a couple of his team-mates now rated as doubtful for tomorrow's clash.
Thomas, rejoined the group yesterday, but did not train and will have to be assessed before a final decision is made on his fitness.
"We're pretty much as we were on Tuesday night," assistant boss Chris Doig confirmed.
"There's a bit of an illness going about at the minute and so there's one or two who are maybe doubtful, but everyone else is ready and raring to go.
"It seems to be the same bug that As had and there's a fair bit of it going about at the minute.
"As was back in yesterday, although he didn't train and will need to be assessed tomorrow – but apart from him, that's about it."
Asked to identify the other players struggling with illness the Scot smiled and replied: "No comment!
"I don't think we'll be forced into many changes from the other night– we might make a couple, but you'll have to wait and find out tomorrow!"
Reflecting on Tuesday night's victory over the Cards, Doig was pleased with the result, but not totally satisfied with the performance and demanded more in Shropshire tomorrow.
He added: It was a good result against Woking, although I wouldn't say it was a great performance – a workmanlike display was probably the best way to describe it.
"I certainly think we can do a lot better, performance-wise but we understand that you're not going to be at your best in every game over the course of a 46-game season.
"The pleasing thing was that we won the game, which is the most important thing, but we'd like to get a bit more performance-wise."
