An independent report has recommended that the closed season at the Humberston Fitties chalet park should be extended to four months of the year.
North East Lincolnshire Council's Cabinet will meet next month to discuss the independent Flood Risk Assessment report which recommends the closure be doubled from two months each year.
Earlier this year, the council commissioned a Flood Risk Assessment and Evacuation Plan for the site to help inform decisions on future lease renewals and management.
The council has today written to all the chalet owners of the holiday park outlining the findings of the report and Council Leader Chris Shaw said the issue would now go to Cabinet for further discussion.
"We have a clear duty to look after those tenants in the chalets," he said.
"This report contains independent professional advice concerning increased risks to life and to property at the Fitties which the council is duty bound to bring to the attention of all owners of chalets and to other potentially affected parties to ensure that they're all aware of the information.
"As landlord, it's only right we consider the report's findings at Cabinet before deciding the best way forward for all those affected."
In September the Council authorised formal negotiations to begin an attempt to agree the terms for a leasehold disposal to Bourne Leisure Group Ltd, the company that owns the neighbouring Thorpe Park.
It also agreed to give authorisation to market the site if terms cannot be agreed with Bourne.
