A CHEF served up a big helping of trouble for himself when he was caught drink-driving for a second time. Patrick Kireja, 37 of Partridge Drive, Rothwell, near Caistor, admitted drink-driving in Barnoldby Road, Waltham, on November 3. Debbie Sanders, prosecuting in front of Grimsby magistrates, said police received an anonymous tip-off that Kireja would be driving from the Ship Inn, Barnoldby-le-Beck, after drinking. He headed out of the pub car park at about 10.40pm but was later stopped and a breath test revealed he had 62mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg. He had a previous drink-drive conviction from December 2008. Keith Thompson, mitigating, said Kireja had been working a split-shift and cooked lunches before returning home, where he drank two or three pints of lager. He returned to work in the evening. He finished work at about 9.30pm, stayed in the kitchen to clean and drank two cans of lager. Kireja started as a chef at the Blacksmith's Arms, Rothwell, working his way up to become head chef, and later joined the Ship Inn. He had suffered a drink problem for at least ten years but claimed that, since this incident, he had not drunk alcohol, said Mr Thompson. Kireja was fined £250, banned from driving for three years and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £25 victims' surcharge. Lover harasses ex JEALOUS lover Craig Currie smashed his ex-girlfriend's car window after seeing "sexy lingerie" in a bag, Grimsby magistrates heard. He got upset after suspecting that she was in a new sexual relationship. Currie, 26, of Stanley Street, Grimsby, admitted harassing Gemma Blissett through making repeated telephone calls and sending text messages between October 6 and 10 as well as damaging her car's rear window on October 9. Debbie Sanders, prosecuting, said Currie spotted "sexy lingerie" in a holdall in the car boot and accused her of having sex with someone else. He smashed a rear window on the vehicle with a spanner. He had been given a harassment warning previously. Currie, who said he "lost it all" after breaking up with her, was given a one-year supervision order, 80 hours' unpaid work and £85 costs.
