Police launch appeal for information following attempted robbery in Grimsby

A man claimed to have been shoved and told to hand over property by an unknown man who was holding a weapon in Grimsby. A man reported to police that he had been approached by another man as he walked along Chelmsford Avenue at around 7.30pm on Thursday, September 30. He claims to have been pushed and asked to hand over property. However, nothing was taken and he was left uninjured. Police enquiries have so far not located any witnesses to the incident. The man is reported as being white and under 6ft, with a dark goatee beard. He is also said to have been wearing a tracksuit, a dark baseball cap, a white scarf and sunglasses. Witnesses are asked to call police on 101, referring to crime reference number AA/2071605.
