Did you hear it?
There was a huge bang over North East Lincolnshire last night.
Dozens of people reported a large flash and a loud bang with houses shaking and cars bouncing shortly after 10.30pm.
While many are convinced it was a storm - others are sticking to their guns and insisting it wasn't.
It's been likened to the earthquake a few years ago, while a sonic boom theory has also been thrown into the mix.
One witness in Waltham said: "The sound lasted around a second. I thought it was thunder but it didn't have the usual reverberation.
"I did have a quick look at a lightning map website and it showed a single strike had been detected near Riby Crossroads at around the time the sound was heard."
The British Geological Survey have not reported any seismic activity in the area which, along with a "flash" reported by a number of witnesses on Twitter, appears to discount the earthquake theory.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "There was an area of heavy showers over Grimsby at the suggested time, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a thunder storm but it does not look like it was too sizeable - not 20 or 30 flashes.
"It certainly could have been enough to cause car alarms to go off and for power to trip out."
