PAUL Hurst has hit back at claims that his reaction to Grimsby Town's display at Lincoln was 'biased'.
After the Mariners lost this week's derby to Hamza Bencherif's late goal, the boss insisted his side had let the Imps off the hook.
That view irritated a section of the Lincoln support, who felt their team were good value for the victory.
"It's been mentioned somewhere that I may have been a bit biased towards my own team," he said.
"I've watched the game back, taken the emotion out of it and watched it more objectively.
"And in the second half we had far more chances than Lincoln did, but they got the ones that counted, so there's no getting away from the fact that they've got the bragging rights from the game.
"We did have some good chances – two in particular where we could have been asking Lincoln to chase the game and get the equaliser.
"Overall, there was certainly no need to be too down, other than the fact that we lost to our local rivals."
