A DIVERSE selection of paintings and crafts are pleasing the eyes of art lovers at Cleethorpes Library.
More than 50 talented members of the Lindsey Art Association are exhibiting their creations at the group's annual Autumn Exhibition – and most of the artwork is available to buy.
The work, which will remain on display at the Alexandra Road venue until Friday, November 30, includes paintings of animals, portraits, landscapes and flowers.
Peter Gettings, from Scartho, is displaying his watercolours – one of a wedding in Old Clee and one of a shire horse.
He said: "The exhibition has been well-received by the public so far and I think it's because there is a wide range of topics on display that will suit everyone's art tastes.
"It is a very good exhibit and a lot of people have been coming in and having a look since we opened at the weekend.
"I still enjoy exhibiting my work, even though it is not new to me because I have been displaying my work for several years."
Peter has belonged to art groups for 20-years and has been part of Lindsey Art Association for four years.
He added: "I enjoy this society because everyone is friendly and we meet on alternate Wednesdays to share our ideas and tips on art."
Committee member Angela Morgan, 63, from Grimsby, said the response to an open day on Sunday was better than she thought.
She said: "It was a nice sunny day and I think it attracted more people through the door.
"We had a great response from those who came, and we hope people will be visiting throughout the exhibition.
"We want to fly the flag for the society and get more people into art.
"I enjoy drawing informal topics and tend to shy away from landscape paintings.
"I also enjoy painting in watercolours because it is a nice medium to start off with."
Member Trevor Beckitt, 72, from Scartho, enjoys painting boat scenes at the Grimsby and Cleethorpes Yacht Club.
He has one boat scene on display in the exhibition, as well as a watercolour of Upgate, in Louth, for sale.
"Each year we have three exhibitions, and I have sold a few paintings over the years so I hope my work will do well this time," Trevor said.
"I tend to like to keep all my paintings – but my walls are getting filled up which is why one is up for sale now."
Trevor got into art when he retired from work.
He explained: "I always wanted to get into art while I was working, but I just didn't get the time to.
"I enjoy this society because everyone is really friendly , and we have a good chat about ideas and teach each other different techniques.
"We even sometimes go outside and paint as a group."
The exhibition is open weekdays from 10am to 4.30pm, Saturdays from 10am to 2.30pm, and Sundays 11am to 3pm.
Entry is free and a raffle will be drawn on the last day of the exhibition.
