The ice rink at Grimsby Leisure Centre will reopen early next month.
Work on the temporary ice pad has progressed ahead of schedule meaning the new rink will now open at 6am on Friday, September 5.
Ice Tech UK has been at the centre laying the ice pad after the failure of the leisure centre's refrigeration system forced the facility to close in June.
North East Lincolnshire Council's cabinet met on July 22 to discuss the closure and agreed to invest around £200,000 in the temporary ice pad which will be accompanied by new barriers and kicker boards.
Users have since been told they face increased fees when the rink reopens. Prices for disabled sessions have remained unchanged, with other individual sessions seeing price increases ranging from 70p for a junior casual skate, to an increase of £3 for a family skate from £15 to £18.
Councillor Mick Burnett, chairman of the Lincs Inspire Board, said: "We are delighted with the progress that the contractors have made. The ice rink now has a new lease of life and we eagerly welcome back our customer on September 5."
Carl Roberts, Partnership Director, Cofely said: "This is an important facility for local people and associated clubs and we are pleased to have been able to support our partners the council and Lincs Inspire who have been working extremely hard to get the Ice Rink open as quickly as possible."
The temporary ice pad will provide an ice rink for the borough over the next two years and enable a permanent solution to be sourced during this time.
