GYM goers joked that it was "raining men" when a staff member fell through the roof in the middle of a fitness class.
Pulse rates weren't the only thing that went through the roof during a balance fitness class at Oasis Health Club in Orwell Street, Grimsby, on Wednesday morning.
A staff member came crashing through the ceiling and onto the floor – while the class was still working out. Luckily, the man was not seriously injured and returned home later that day after getting checked out at Grimsby's Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital.
A member of the gym, who did not wish to be named, said: "I was really shocked when I heard what had happened; it was the talk of the gym.
"We heard that a man had been working in the roof space and fell through to the studio while a class was taking place, and that the man was in hospital.
"But when we found out he was ok, people were more good humoured about it and joked that It's Raining Men was playing when it happened."
Manager Tracey Mills said: "We were quite shocked at the time but now that we know everything is ok, we can laugh about it.
"In my 22 years running this site, there has never been an incident like this as the staff know how safety conscious I am."
The studio was closed as a precautionary measure while the roof was fixed, although the damage was minimal, and the main gym remained open.
Classes are back to normal today.
