GRIMSBY Town's search for a new goalkeeper coach has begun in earnest following Paul Crichton's departure this week.
As reported, the 45-year-old has joined Championship side Blackpool on a full-time basis, having only come on board last month after leaving his position at Huddersfield.
And while boss Paul Hurst was disappointed to see Crichton go, he wasn't surprised to see him jump at the chance of joining the Tangerines.
"The agreement that we had with Paul always meant that he could look at his options if someone offered him a full-time post and that's the way it's worked out," he said.
"It's a full-time post at a Championship club and with all the will in the world, realistically, it wasn't a decision to make for him.
"We're disappointed to lose him and although it was a very short relationship, he was a good guy, a very experienced coach and we're sorry to see him go.
He added: "It's now a case of trying to find someone out there who fits and can develop James and the two lads further."
