GRIMSBY Town kicked-off their pre-season campaign with a 3-1 victory over neighbours Cleethorpes Town this evening.
The Mariners fielded a different line-up in each half, as boss Paul Hurst gave all his first-teamers - plus a sprinkling of Youth stars - an outing at Bradley Community Stadium.
And following a goal-less first half, the game came to life after the break.
Mariners striker Lenell John-Lewis put the 'visitors' in front in the 52nd minute before Jack Debnam equalised for the Owls.
John-Lewis struck again shortly after the hour mark, and an unfortunate own goal gave the Mariners a third.
A sell-out capacity crowd watched the game on an excellent night for the area's football fans.
