NOBODY can ever take away what Curtis Woodhouse has achieved in boxing. That's according to Grimsby pro Kevin Hooper, who is a regular sparring partner with the former Mariners midfielder. Woodhouse was beaten by Willie Limond in Glasgow on June 27, losing his British crown in the process. But 'Super Hooper' – who is busy preparing for his clash with Liam Walsh at Manchester Arena – thinks his friend has proved the doubters wrong. He said: "I watched the fight and was obviously disappointed for him. "Curtis has done so well for the sport, and was unlucky to come up against a kid that was just better on the night. "He never stopped going, he never gave up and he was right there until the end. "Unfortunately he was on the wrong end of the decision. "People laughed at Curtis when he came from football into the boxing game. "But he achieved the biggest prize on offer – the British title – and nobody can ever take that away from him. "Curtis is a nice and humble guy, and he has worked so hard to achieve what he has." Keep track of the latest boxing news in the Telegraph.
