Cleethorpes awash with poppies as we remembered them.

Cleethorpes people along with civic representatives, MP Martin Vickers and service men and women came together in Remembrance today.

Deputy Mayor, Councillor Peggy Elliott, and her Consort Mr Steve Elliott stood alongside members of the public on this  the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour, to  remember those who have given their lives for the freedom we enjoy today.

The Kingsway Printers Cleethorpes Band proudly marched the parade off with standard bearers of all the armed forces.
A service was held at St Peter's Church, led by the Reverend Paul Hunter, then they gathered outside the church at the War Memorial for the two minutes silence and the laying of the wreaths.

The Ode written by English poet and writer Laurence Binyon:
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God. From Matthew 5: 9
