THIEVES stole a wallet and cash during a distraction theft in Caistor.
The incident happened during the afternoon of Wednesday, June 11 in Redhills Close.
Police said that, whilst the homeowner was speaking to a man at the door, a second man got into the kitchen at the back of the house before taking the items.
The theft was not discovered until the following day.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: "Please be vigilant as generally we see a rise in sneak in burglaries at this time of year.
"Lock your doors when you are in the garden or inside your dwellings as offenders will take any opportunity to steal from you."
