A teenage boy was assaulted in a Grimsby park by a man who asked him to hand over his bicycle.
The attempted robbery took place in Grant Thorold Park, off Durban Road, at around 8.40am on Thursday.
The boy, 14, was cycling alone through the park when the man is reported to have stood in front of him, preventing him from riding away.
The man is then alleged to have asked the boy to hand over his bicycle before assaulting him.
As the boy fell to the floor, the unknown man looked in the opposite direction and shouted something. This enabled the boy to get back on his bicycle and cycle away.
The boy sustained slight injuries to his nose and his face in the incident.
Anyone who may have seen what happened is asked to call Humberside Police on 101, quoting crime reference 2049000.
