A leading supermarket has sparked a supermarket fuel price war by reducing the cost of its diesel.
From tomorrow morning, Asda is taking up to 2p a litre off its diesel meaning motorists will pay no more than 131.7p per litre.
This will bring Asda diesel down to its lowest level since February 2011. The price of its petrol remains unchanged at 127.7p a litre.
Asda said significant falls in the wholesale price of diesel were enabling the company to pass on these cost savings directly to its customers.
