A young woman suffered minor injuries after being assaulted on Washdyke Lane in Immingham by an unknown attacker as she walked home.
The incident happened just after 11pm on Saturday on the grassed area close to the Co-op supermarket.
The 18-year-old woman was grabbed her in a headlock and punched her in the face before walking away.
The woman suffered bruising to the face and received treatment at Grimsby's Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.
The suspect was described as a white man, aged 25 to 30 years, 5ft 8ins tall, slim build, with short, dark hair, beard and black rimmed glasses. He was wearing dark clothing and was carrying a black rucksack.
