STRICTLY speaking, they were some of the proudest parents in the world on Sunday night.
Their son was announced as a finalist in this year's Strictly Come Dancing, and their daughter danced her way to a world championship.
But far from putting their feet up and taking in the extraordinary events of the last few months, Clifton's Dance Academy owners Keith and Judy Clifton will spend this week in a whirlwind of running dance classes, hosting several Christmas parties for their various students, and, of course, travelling to London for the Strictly final, hoping to see Kevin lift the coveted glitter ball with his partner, BBC Breakfast presenter Susanna Reid.
And that's all after a hectic weekend in Merano, Italy, where they saw their 30-year-old daughter Joanne take the title in the World Professional Ballroom Showdance Championships with her partner Paolo Bosco.
The couple were among 14 from all over the world competing for the title, making it to the final six in the evening, before taking the title with an amazing 43.71 points out of a possible 45.
It was the first time Keith and Judy, former world champions themselves, had missed Kevin's performance on the BBC show, and we caught them on their way home from the airport – having had no sleep before a 6am flight from Italy – ready to face another round of interviews, prepare all their Christmas parties, and, as Judy pointed out, run a business!
"What a weekend," said Judy.
"We are so proud of them both.
"We were nervous, anxious, emotional – there were lots of tears!
"We haven't even been to bed. And this week we have our usual classes, an adult Christmas party, two children's ones, and our annual dinner dance as well as the final on Saturday."
It's been an incredible year for the Cliftons, and next year looks set to be a packed one, too.

Judy explained that Kevin, his fiance Karen Hauer, who was voted off Strictly in week six with her partner, Hairy Biker Dave Myers, and Joanne, will join the critically-acclaimed dance show Burn The Floor for two months. It's where Kevin first made a name for himself in the Broadway version, and, incidentally, where he met Karen.
Joanne, whose partner Paolo retired from competition on Sunday night, is keeping her options open, but will join Burn The Floor for the first time. In a coincidental twist, she will be partnering another Strictly professional – Alijaz Skorjanec, who is also vying for the glitter ball with his partner, model Abbey Clancy, on Saturday.
The tour will take them to Australia for a month, and Japan for another.
Meanwhile, Joanne will return to her home village from Italy to spend Christmas with her mum and dad, while Kevin and Karen are planning to jet off to New York following the final, to spend the festive season with Karen's family.
