Weather and travel updates: Strong winds batter northern Lincolnshire - east coast flood warnings in place

Strong winds have arrived in northern Lincolnshire with damage reported across the borough. The Met Office yesterday issued an amber warning for potentially damaging winds in the area which, coupled with a spring tide, carry with them the risk of coastal flooding. Authorities have declared a state of emergency as a serious tidal surge is expected to affect the coastline this evening.
TRAVEL UPDATESUPDATE 12.10pm: A tree is blocking the A18 at Grainsby. More details to follow.UPDATE: 12pm: The Humber Bridge has reopened to traffic except high-sided vehicles and caravans.UPDATE: 11.30am: The Humber Bridge is closed to ALL traffic due to the strong winds.UPDATE 10.25am: A tree has blown down on Brighowgate in Grimsby. It is blocking Manor Avenue and the council are in the process of removing it.UPDATE 9am: The Humber Bridge is closed to high-sided vehicles and a 30mph limit is in place for all other traffic.
Volunteers from Humber Rescue lifeboat team are on standby to respond to the ongoing threats of flooding along the coast. Teams will be mobilised upon request by the HM Coastguard who may in turn also provide land based support teams, depending upon the type of emergency. Glenn Ramsden, Media Manager from Humber Rescue said: "Our volunteers are incredibly loyal and adaptable, they have a great deal of experience in all aspects of this type of work.
