Long road back for Louth Town after Hall Road Rangers inflict defeat

A PATCHED-UP Louth Town crashed to their 11th defeat on the trot as they fell 3-0 to Hall Road Rangers on Saturday.

With manager Paul Walden and assistant Simon Aldrich away on Lincolnshire FA duties, Carl Wall and Chris Dunkin took charge of first-team affairs.

Due to work commitments and injuries, the White Wolves were without a number of key players and the caretaking duo were forced to draft in Academy players at short notice.

With an unfamiliar back-four, a number of defensive errors were made early on, allowing Ben Kingsley to capitalise and open the scoring.

However, the visitors did not have it all their own way, with Chris Ella and Danny Webb threatening to hit back for the hosts.

But when they were repelled, Hall Road doubled their advantage when Kingsley grabbed his second before Andy Harrison scored the third and possibly best goal of the game just before half-time.

A dejected Louth walked off the pitch, only to re-emerge after the break with a totally different outlook.

Marcus Mason was introduced in place of Ryan Johnson but he only lasted ten minutes before injuring his ankle and being forced off to hospital.

And, despite a late push from the Wolves, they could not find a way back into the game and they remain rooted at the foot of the table on nine points.

After the game, Wall said: "We struggled with too many new faces and it took time to understand each other and two sloppy goals cost us dearly."
