THE light shone on the unsung heroes of our community at the Grimsby Telegraph's first ever Community Awards.
The event, held at the Humber Royal Hotel, in Grimsby, on Thursday, saw more than 30 nominees over 11 different categories recognised and celebrated for their achievements.
Master of ceremonies David Wrightam described the inspiration stories of each of the nominees, while the many local businesses who sponsored the categories proudly handed over each winning trophy.
Grimsby Telegraph editor Michelle Lalor opened the night with a speech which applauded the nominees for their sterling work in the community.
She said: "The Grimsby Telegraph would be nothing without the community of North East Lincolnshire, a community that is strong and vibrant and these awards celebrate that."
