A MAN required hospital treatment after being knocked unconscious during an assault in Bentley Street, Cleethorpes.
At about 12.15am on Sunday, a 59-year-old man and a woman were walking home together when they noticed a man and woman in front of them involved in a verbal altercation.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: "The woman involved in the altercation walked away and crossed the road, while the man approached the 59-year-old man and became verbally aggressive towards him before it is alleged he assaulted him.
"The victim was knocked unconscious for a short time and then taken home before being taken to the Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital and treated for injuries to his face and head."
The offender has been described as white, aged in his mid-20s and about 6ft tall. He was of a stocky build and with short fair hair and wearing a grey top.
