A council refuse lorry crashed into railings outside a primary school in Grimsby this morning (Thursday).
The North East Lincolnshire Council truck became stuck on the railings outside Welholme Community Primary School in Welholme Road at around 8.30am, as hundreds of children and their parents made their way to school.
The driver told the Telegraph he was forced to swerve to avoid an oncoming car and became stuck on the railings.
The council workers eventually freed the lorry at around 9am and nobody was injured.
The driver, who did not wish to be named, said: "I pulled left out of the corner and had to avoid an oncoming car and I put the left hand down too far and caught the barrier."
School head Delyse Turrell said: "The lollipop ladies outside the school dealt with the situation well and made sure the children could get into school safely."
