REGARDING the Thomas Watton case, in March this year I was a witness in a sex abuse case. The victims are my little sisters.
Fortunately the offender was sentenced to a minimum of eight years and life on the sex offenders register. Having said that no sentence could ever put right what these vile creatures do.
As a mother myself and experiencing what I have it has resulted in me being what most people would call over cautious. There's no such thing.
I have two children under the age of four and they already know about stranger danger. This is something that should be taught by everyone but unfortunately isn't.
Every parent hopes and prays that their children won't fall prey to paedophiles.
What happened to my sisters was because of a 'family friend'.
And people shouldn't be so naive to think that their children couldn't be groomed over the internet. It's happening every day. Full name and address supplied.
