RUMOURS circulated around Grimsby yesterday that TV celebrities Ant and Dec were in town.
Despite extensive enquiries, the Grimsby Telegraph news team drew a blank.
The rumours appeared on social networking website Facebook.
An appeal on the Telegraph's Twitter account, @grimsbytel, elicited a few responses.
Reader Katie Poulton said: "I'll be gutted if they have been! I would love to bump into them."
And Simon Devaney joked: "Yeah, they are the new management team at Blundell Park."
