GROUP chairman, John Michael Smaller, said: "The scouts are more than 100 years old and have been on this site for 90 years.
"We've been at the heart of the community since 1923 and thousands of scouts have come and gone through this hall since then – it would be such a shame to see it go.
"Today, over 700 people use the centre every week for activities from karate to bingo. We have a lot going on in this little hall of ours.
"The scouts have done some amazing work in the area and preserving the building for another 100 years and thousands more scouts is well worth it."
"We want all our old boys, neighbours and friends to vote for us, its been a great part of the community for years and I'm sure not many people want to see it go."

The funding will mean the group can replace the roof at the venue and improve the facilities for its users.
