GRIMSBY Town defender Aswad Thomas has this evening apologised following his sending off against Nuneaton last weekend.
After what has been a dramatic day at Blundell Park - following the apparent departure of joint boss Rob Scott earlier in the day - the defender issued an apology via the club's official website.
In a statement, he wrote: "I would firstly like to apologise for by behaviour last week during the game against Nuneaton.
"My actions let myself down, my team-mates down, the management down and the fans down.
"By behaviour was unacceptable and was born out of frustration.
"I have now been punished internally and I am hoping to draw a line under the incident. It was out of character and I will now be concentrating on working hard to make sure I am ready for selection when the ban is completed."
