TAMWORTH boss Marcus Law insists his side must "show their mettle" to deal with Grimsby Town's attacking threat – especially Ross Hannah.
The Mariners travel to Staffordshire on Saturday for a rearranged Blue Square Bet Premier clash with the Lambs.
Having come up against Town over the last two seasons with Tamworth and previous club Kettering, Law knows what to expect come kick-off.
However, it is on-loan forward Hannah who the 37-year-old manager is particularly aware of.
"Obviously the Scott Neilson loss to suspension will affect what they've been doing," he told the Telegraph.
"But I've tracked Ross Hannah now for five or six years, ever since I came across him playing for Belper Town, so I certainly know what he will be about.
"He has a massive amount of ability and plenty of experience now.
"Grimsby also have strong centre-halves and a very organised midfield.
"We're going to have to show our mettle to deal with the attacking options Grimsby have, but I'm hopeful we might be able to pose a few questions for their back four as well."
Ninth-placed Tamworth go into the match following three defeats on the spin in league and cup.
But the sides fought out two draws last season and, with just four places separating them in the Conference table, Law is anticipating another close encounter.
He added: "This will be my fifth game against Grimsby, all of which have been very tight affairs, and I expect no different on Saturday.
"Grimsby have got two fantastic managers who are very good technically as well as organisation-wise, and they'll have a very good group of players well-drilled for a big game.
"We seem to be a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde team at the moment – we show a lot of potential against the hierarchy of the division.
"Then when we play the teams at the lower end we don't seem to have that same tenacity.
"So if you asked me what kind of game I'd like to be going into, it would be against a former Football League club that's going to bring a lot of fans down and provide an exciting atmosphere.
"From a purely selfish point of view that could help get us going again.
"I'm just hoping that the right Tamworth turns up, which is obviously not what the Grimsby fans or management would want!"
Law admits he has been impressed by Rob Scott and Paul Hurst's Mariners this season.
"It's no surprise to me that Grimsby are in and around the play-offs this time," he said.
"I know about Rob and Paul and, because of that, knew they would be up there.
"Last year was more abou getting their feet under the table and nailing down what they wanted at the club.
"The Grimsby side of last year was not as strong as the Grimsby side now.
"Through the experience and continuity of working for Rob and Paul, they're winning more than they're losing and the confidence is there.
"We've got to make sure we're at the races and able to compete with that.
"Every fixture in the Conference brings its own unique challenges, but for the likes of myself managing the real 'non-league' clubs, you pencil in matches with Grimsby Town, Luton and Wrexham, and relish those games."
