GET your flapper dresses at the ready – tickets are now on sale for a roaring Twenties-style event.
The biggest fundraising event of the year by the learning disability charity Linkage Community Trust has been announced, and it is adopting a 1920s theme for 2013.
The charity, which also provides specialist further education and care services, is hoping to raise thousands of pounds towards helping learning disabled people find paid jobs through its Gatsby Ball on Saturday, October 5, from 7pm at the Brackenborough Hotel, Louth.
Linkage's specialist employment services team works with some 140 companies across Lincolnshire to find jobs for its clients and provide support staff.
It is one of the areas of work that Linkage funds itself and the charity's service users have found work in retail, horticulture, the hospitality industry and in administrative roles.
Development and fundraising manager Christine Saxon said: "Finding jobs is an important step for service users towards independence, improving their confidence and giving a chance to contribute to society.
"Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and people who have attended previous balls, we raised several thousand pounds."
It costs £40 a ticket, includes a drinks reception, a three-course meal, and live entertainment, prize activities plus a disco until the early hours. There will also be an auction, raffle and casino. Tables of 10 are also available to book.
