THE latest batch of Young Reporters are ready to get involved in the local community.
Four teenagers will be continuing the project which has seen young people breaking down the barriers of stereotypes.
Since October 2012, the Grimsby Telegraph has been welcoming young people in association with the Young People's Support Service to challenge the negative stereotype through the power of the written word as part of the Young Reporters scheme.
Young Reporter columns are published every Saturday, covering issues as controversial as immigration to lighter topics such as dreaming.
The parting group of Young Reporters gave their tips of advice to the new group as well as discussing what they enjoyed most about the scheme.
Naomi May, 17, said: "It has been a good experience. I want to go into journalism and getting published is a fantastic advantage.
"I have really enjoyed the freedom to write about whatever I wanted to."
Kyle Harris, 17, added: "Aside from being able to meet some great people during the project I have really enjoyed the writing.
"I always knew from the beginning what I wanted to say in the column.
"I really want to get involved with either journalism or politics and this has been a great way to get started."
And Matthew Clarkson, 17, said: "The freedom to express ourselves through writing is great.
"I want to study writing at university and hopefully get into sports journalism.
"This has been a great experience for me."
The new Young Reporters are Billy Brookes, 15, Emma Fletcher, 16, Lilli Keen, 17, and Beth Craske, 17.
Billy said: "I want to express my views. I enjoy blogging and when my friend told me about this I really wanted to get involved."
Emma said: "I really want to be a journalist. I am really looking forward to seeing what I have written get printed."
Lilli, who has always enjoyed writing, said: "I liked English at school. I did work experience at a newspaper and really enjoyed it and that's what I would like to do."
And Beth said: "I read about it on the school e-mail and I knew I wanted to do it there and then.
"I really want to do something creative and I enjoy expressing myself. I really want to see my work published in the paper."
