NINE months after announcing new flight services from Humberside Airport, jetXtra.com has now announced that they will be committing to future operations at the region's local airport.
Operations began in May 2013, when flights to Alicante and Majorca commenced for the summer months and now jetXtra has confirmed that those flights will return for summer 2014 operating on Saturdays.
In addition, the company will offer services to Tenerife on Fridays over the Christmas and New Year period - the first time the winter hotspot has been offered from Humberside since 2008.
The company has confirmed that if the Tenerife route proves popular they will look to have a more regular service operate in the near future.
This news follows the recent announcement by Paul Litten, commercial director of Humberside Airport, that he expects to see passenger numbers increase by about 20,000 next year – the first upturn in passengers since 2006, representing a great boost for the local economy.
jetXtra.com founder Daniel Reilly said: "We are delighted to reconfirm our commitment to Humberside and put flights on sale to Alicante and Majorca for summer 2014, plus in addition we are returning the ever popular Tenerife to the departure boards for this Christmas and New Year.
"We pride ourselves on being the only company offering transparent fares and this will continue with a free baggage allowance plus no credit and debit card fees, we always aim to offer a high standard of service and the feedback we have received from passengers this year has been very positive, we look forward to welcoming customers old and new to their local airport during 2014."
