LOCAL businesses are ready to put their best foot forward at a charity football match.
Advantage Finance LTD (AFL) will play neighbouring Acorn Business Park company Cardsave.
The match will take place at Bradley Pitches on Tuesday, August 27, kicking off at 6.30pm.
Bradley Pitches have kindly let the two teams play on one of their pitches free of charge.
Each company will be playing to raise money for a charity of their choice.
AFL will be supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care while Cardsave will be playing for St Andrew's Hospice.
The events organiser Wayne Taylor, who works for AFL, came up with the idea to hold a charity football match to celebrate the company's 75th anniversary in July.
The 25-year-old, who will be playing the position of striker, hopes to turn this match into an annual charity event.
He said: "Ideally we are aiming to raise as much money as possible for a good cause. If we could turn this into an annual event that would be great. I think it would give us all something to look forward to."
Each company already has its own all-male football team and plays non-competitively every week.
In the run-up to the football match, AFL and Cardsave will be holding casual clothes days, with staff being asked to pay £1 to go to work casually dressed. Football themed name cards will be running and all of the money raised will go to charity.
Wayne and the rest of the players are hoping the event will attract as many people from around the area as possible.
Each player will make a donation to the charity fund and spectators will be asked to pay £1.
