I am writing on behalf of the Vulcan to the Sky Trust to express our sincere gratitude for the fantastic welcome that was given to Vulcan XH558 by the people of Cleethorpes last Sunday, when the town turned out in force to see this iconic aircraft. Walking around the town and along the Promenade before the Vulcan's arrival it was very evident that there was great excitement and a sense of anticipation in place and I would also like to thank all of the people for the very warm welcome that was extended to us on our first visit to the town. I hope that the Vulcan provided great entertainment and a stirring display for the huge crowds, which was a great testament to the aircrew - Bill Ramsey, Kev Rumens and Phil Davies - who, as always, were determined to put on a good display and show the aircraft off to her very best effect. My congratulations to the organisers who worked very hard to put on such an excellent event and also many thanks to Cristal and all of the other sponsors who helped to make this all possible. The Trust - the Charity that operates the Vulcan - has launched an exciting new initiative, which is designed to enable the Vulcan to fly for a further two years in 2014 and 2015. To find out more about this ground breaking initiative please visit www.vulcantothesky.org. Many thanks once again to the people of Cleethorpes and the surrounding area for their kind and enthusiastic support and friendly welcome. My best wishes to all of your readersRichard Clarke, Press and PR Manager, Vulcan to the Sky TrustMore readers' pictures from the Cleethorpes Air Show will be featured in tomorrow's Grimsby Telegraph.
