A MAN had a lucky escape after losing control of his car during the heavy downpour in the early hours of yesterday.
At 2.35am, emergency services were called to Laceby Road, Grimsby, near Bradley Pitches, after the blue Corsa left the road and smashed into a tree.
Firefighters cut the man out of the vehicle before paramedics took him to Grimsby's Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.
Despite the damage to the car, he only suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed for around five hours.
