CLEETHORPES Pier will officially open to the public today – just one week after it was taken over.
Businessman and chairman of the Pier Group Bryan Huxford will take advantage of the thousands expected to flock to the resort for Cleethorpes Air Show, offering them the perfect viewing spot.
At this stage, they will be selling hot, cold and alcoholic drinks and snacks, under the new venue manager Graham Franklin – who used to run Amishi – and former Pier staff who lost their jobs when it closed.
Mr Huxford said: "We've been overwhelmed by the public support and offers of help since we announced our plans. We're keen to get the doors open and invite people in and onto the boardwalk to prove The Pier can once again be a thriving landmark in North East Lincolnshire."
