CYCLISTS will pedal up interest in the sport while raising money for charity in Louth.
Members of the local Cyclist Touring Club (CTC) have organised a biking event for all abilities this month.
It will raise money for Louth and District Hospice – and the profile of the sport during National Bike Week.
There will be a ten-mile ride with a stop at Rushmoor Country Park or a 30 or 50-mile ride around the Wolds on Sunday, June 23.
CTC member Tim Newbery, 55, said: "This is to encourage people to go out cycling. It is for people who haven't biked much in the past or who have and want to get back into it.
"Ten miles is more than some people have ridden before, so it isn't for total beginners, but hopefully it will be suitable for children and their families, especially as we are stopping off at Rushmoor Country Park, which is great for kids."
Cyclists will set off from and finish at the Meridian Leisure Centre, in Wood Lane.
The 30 and 50-mile rides start at 10am and the ten-mile ride starts at 11am.
While some have signed up for the longer rides, numbers are still low for the ten-mile stretch – although Tim is optimistic this will change.
He added: "I get various things out of cycling, mainly fitness, but there is also a great social side to it, not to mention how eco-friendly it is."
