TEAMS and sponsors are being sought for a popular summer event at Waltham Windmill Golf Club.
The Diable Charity Golf Day – which is an Am-Am Stableford competition – will take place on Friday, July 5, in aid of Linkage Community Trust.
Now in its sixth year, the tournament was the brainchild of Tony Diable, and is administered by students and staff at the Weelsby Campus in Grimsby.
The College, which forms part of the Trust, is the longest-established specialist further education provider in the country, catering for young, learning disabled people.
Diable, who runs Diable Roofing, said: "The Charity Golf Day has been hugely successful over the years and we've raised nearly £20,000 for Linkage.
"I know that the golfers who take part really appreciate the efforts that the students and staff put in to making this a very enjoyable and well-run event."
The day will involve teams of four, any combination of men and women, competing to win team prizes and individual prizes.
There will be a 'nearest the pin' challenge on the 14th hole, and a 'longest drive' on the 18th.
Entry costs £120 per team, and includes a free half-way house – and a fish and chip supper.
In addition to that, there is the opportunity for players to win a car on the 9th hole, should they sink a hole-in-one.
A luxury golfing holiday in Portugal, a UK golfing break and a set of high-quality golf clubs are also to be won on other greens where an ace is scored.
Due to the popularity of this event, teams are urged to complete and submit their entry forms as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
