A DOCK worker fell 20ft on to concrete sea defences at Grimsby's Royal Dock.
The man, who has not been named, is understood to be around 40 years old and, although injured, was not thought to be in a serious condition.
He was waiting for a ship to dock when the accident happened at around 4.30pm yesterday.
His workmate raised the alarm.
Humberside Fire and Rescue crews from Peaks Lane, supported by a specialist team from Immingham, were called to the scene.
They used ropes and a basket stretcher to haul the man to safety from the concrete defences.
Ambulance crews treated the man at the scene before transporting him to Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby.
A fire service spokesman said the man suffered shoulder, neck and spinal injuries.
He said the man had slipped and fallen 20ft before coming to rest on the concrete defences below.
The man's condition was described as non-life threatening and he was conscious and breathing throughout the rescue operation.
