GRIMSBY Town fans flocked to Blundell Park yesterday for the first day of season ticket sales.
Over 80 season tickets were snapped up by Mariners supporters, generating in excess of £15,000 - almost £5,000 more than the first day of sales last season, when a total of 59 were sold.
Accounts manager at Blundell Park, Steve Wraith, said yesterday's events had generated the biggest first day sales in recent years.
He told the Telegraph; "It has been a very, very positive start to our season ticket sales.
"To have the kind of response that we have done is brilliant and we have to take our hats off to the fans, who, as always, have been fantastic."
