FORMER Grimsby Town player Lee Ashcroft has been handed a ten-match touchline ban and fined £1,200 for verbally abusing a female opposition coach.
An independent FA commission found the Northwich Victoria manager guilty of using "abusive and/or insulting words" which were in relation to Gresley coach's Hannah Dingley gender during the Northern Premier League Division One South fixture on January 12.
Ashcroft, who was the Mariners' record £500,000 signing in August 1998, denies the claim and will appeal the decision.
