TWO horses running loose by the Humber Bridge made motorists do a double take this morning... leaving them wondering if they have to pay a toll!
Drivers were surprised to see the pair running around on the approach road to the booths of the bridge on the north bank early this morning.
One motorist said: "It was a shock! They looked like they were on a mission to get somewhere.
"Perhaps they fancied a visit to Grimsby. I wonder if they have to pay £1.50 to get across the bridge?"
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: "Police received a call at 6.51am reporting two horses running loose on the approach road to the toll booths towards the roundabout on the A15 in Hull.
"Several further calls of sightings of the horses in the area of Ferriby Road, Boothferry Road and Darley's roundabout and an eventual call from the owner who conveyed being en route to collect them.
"Police patrolled in the area but did not see the animals and concluded after surveying the area that the owner had retrieved them."
