FORMER Grimsby Town defender Ryan Bennett has been fined £8,000 by the FA over comments he made on Twitter.
After an independent regulatory commission hearing, Bennett - now at Premier League Norwich City - was also warned about his future conduct after admitting an FA misconduct charge in relation to social media.
The charge was for a breach of FA Rule E3 in that he used abusive and/or insulting and/or threatening words in comments posted on Twitter.
The 23-year-old centre-half was reported to have reacted to comments from Arsenal fans.
