SPOOKS actor Peter Firth is heading to a fundraiser in Humberston next week.
He has been invited by his cousin Josephine Dixon, of Cleethorpes, who is organising the event to say thank you to her Macmillan nurses.
Josephine, 77, has been suffering with bowel cancer for a year.
Peter, who plays Harry in the hit BBC drama, is the only actor to have appeared in every episode of the show's ten-series life-span.
"They care about you so much, and have time to listen to you and help you," said Josephine, talking about the Macmillan nurses at The Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital.
"That is why I want to raise as much money as possible for them.
"They are all marvellous and I want to give something back.
"I thought it would be a good idea for my actor cousin to host the evening and draw the raffle.
"We have some excellent prizes such as a flight to Scotland, a Butlin's trip, a £100 meal voucher and much more."
Josephine, who is currently on morphine for her cancer, said all her family and friends are praying she will be strong enough to pull through the disease.
"I have had two big operations, the last one in April and I now have a colostomy bag," she said.
"It has been really bad and I am trying to stay strong – I am not receiving any chemotherapy treatment at the moment, just morphine."
Josephine said she is really proud of her cousin, adding: "Ever since he was a young boy he always wanted to be in the limelight and I knew he wanted to be an actor.
"He has recently been filming in Spain and Hungary – he is always a busy man.
"At the fundraising event there will also be some entertainment, including dancers and singers."
Peter, who lives in London, said he is looking forward to the event, and he will be bringing a raffle prize box set of Spooks series one to eight.
"When I get the chance to pop down to Cleethorpes, I always have a really good time," Peter said.
"The TV series of Spooks has stopped filming now – everything has to come to an end... but I am preparing for a Spooks film in the autumn.
"I am looking forward to it and it will be on a much bigger scale.
"I enjoy playing Harry – it has been a lot of fun and it's always good to play a hero with a dark side. He is not like myself, he is much cleverer than me."
The event will take place at Lucarly's in Wilton Road, Humberston, from 7pm to 9.30pm.
Entry is £1 on the door, which includes a raffle ticket.
