BUDDING James McKeowns and Greg Flemings can learn the art of goalkeeping and meet their Grimsby Town heroes at a new coaching course.
Mariners goalkeeping coach Steve Croudson has created the session – which takes places on Monday, October 29 – for youngsters aged 7-17.
And he will be joined by Town's two senior stoppers, McKeown and Fleming, along with Youth team custodian Harry Ashton, pictured right.
Croudson, who represented his hometown club at first-team level before injury curtailed his playing career, says fledgling goalkeepers are often forgotten when it comes to coaching.
"I've been thinking about running a goalkeepers' course for a while now," he told the Telegraph.
"There's not much goalkeeper coaching around and I certainly didn't get much when I was younger.
"So I thought it would be good for youngsters to come down Cheapside, see how we work and get an insight into the club and the goalkeepers we've got at Grimsby Town.
"James McKeown and Greg Fleming will be there with me, and some of the younger guys like Harry Ashton as well.
"They will be there to put their expertise and knowledge into it, and coach the kids as well.
"I just think it will be a nice experience to see the kids coming down the training ground and enjoying goalkeeping."
The session runs from 1.30pm-4pm at the Mariners' Cheapside training ground, and is £15 per youngster.
"It will be a one-day, two-and-a-half hour course with lots of keeper coaching but loads of fun stuff for the kids as well," added Croudson.
"The youngsters can ask the keepers or myself any questions they have, and we'll do our best to answer them all.
"It's something I'm really looking forward to.
"It's just been about finding the right time to do it and making sure everyone is available to attend."
