MAY the force be with Star Wars fans from across Lincolnshire who can take part in a special themed week in Skegness.
An intergalactic battle between the forces of good and evil will be played out in Skegness starting at the Hildred's Shopping Centre this May Bank Holiday weekend.
The centre will have life-sized models of R2D2 and C3PO, along with Darth Vader and an Imperial Storm Trooper from Saturday, May, 4 to Monday, May 6.
One of the centre's units will be transformed into a space lounge with specially created Star Wars graphics decorating the room. The room will also be darkened for extra effect.
Deputy centre manager, Steve Andrews has devised the event and created the models of R2D2 and CP30 himself.
He said: "May 4 is a key date in any Star Wars fan's diary and we think we've hit the nail on the head with this event.
"The models and characters are extremely realistic and the space lounge is like stepping into a completely different place.
"There will certainly be plenty to see for shoppers of all ages and I want to see as many photos as possible of our shoppers with the characters on Facebook."
Events and competitions will take place all week and will coincide with the launch of the Skegness app and Visit Seaside directory launched by Skegness Town Partnership.
The Visit Seaside directory is a booklet with exclusive discounts and offers for attractions in Skegness.
The Skegness app will allow those who live in and around the town plus visitors to redeem offers simply by swiping their phones over in-store pods that are connected to the cash tills.
