POLICE have confirmed that injuries to a man found half-naked and bleeding heavily are not believed to be life-threatening. The man, named by his brother as Carl Smith, was found outside his home on Duke Street, Grimsby, this morning by neighbours. The onlooker said he thought the man had been stabbed, but police have now ruled this out. His brother, Lee Smith, 38, of Duke Street, would not confirm what had happened to his brother. However, he said he was currently being treated at Grimsby's Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital. He also refuted claims from those living nearby that his brother had suffered an overdose. Humberside Police have confirmed that they attended an incident on the street at 9.52am today and that a man was later taken to Grimsby's Diana, Princess of Wales hospital. A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "A call was made due to concern for the safety of a man on Duke Street in Grimsby. "He was found in the street and taken to hospital for treatment. "The extent of his injuries are not known at this time and police are now investigating the circumstances of the incident." Currently, two police cars and a scientific investigation team are at the scene. An onlooker, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "A man came out of his flat naked from the waist down and covered in blood. "I think he had been stabbed."
