DRUG dealer Peter Oliver has been jailed for three years after being caught with stashes of heroin.
He eventually turned his back on dealing and a later police raid on his home found nothing, a court heard.
Oliver, 34, of Margaret Street, Immingham, admitted possessing 30.313g of heroin with intent to supply on June 14.
Police had received a tip-off and he was stopped on the A180 as he was driving home, Grimsby Crown Court heard.
Drugs were found in the car and more were found during a search at his home, as well as money.
Richard Hackfath, mitigating, said Oliver had been a drug addict for about 15 years, but had always worked and been able to pay for his drugs out of his earnings.
He later lost his job as a bricklayer, slipped into debt to drug suppliers and ended up supplying drugs to help fund his own addiction.
Oliver was a middle-level supplier who was receiving drugs from someone higher up the chain but he was not actually peddling drugs on the streets himself, said Mr Hackfath.
Police later raided Oliver's home after this matter came to light but found nothing, he added.
Oliver had kept away from dealing drugs because he had been on methadone, said Mr Hackfath.
